University Flats Animal Policy
University Flats is a no-pet property.
Service animals and other assistance animals may be permitted as a reasonable accommodation under applicable fair housing laws.
Knowingly providing false or misleading information in connection with a reasonable accommodation request is prohibited. False or misleading information may result in denial of the request and may result in lease enforcement or other action permitted by law.
Requesting an Assistance Animal
Residents who need an assistance animal should submit a Reasonable Accommodation Request to University Flats Management before bringing the animal onto the property.
If an animal is brought onto the property before a request is submitted, the resident must promptly notify Management and submit a Reasonable Accommodation Request.
If the disability-related need for an assistance animal is not apparent, Management may request reliable documentation supporting the need for the animal from a qualified healthcare professional or other reliable source with personal knowledge of the resident.
Visiting Animals
Residents may not have visiting pets or allow pets belonging to guests, friends, or family members to stay in or on University Flats property.
This rule does not apply when an accommodation is required under applicable law for a guest's disability-related assistance animal.
Requests for a guest's assistance animal should be submitted to Management before the animal visits the property.
Rules for Animals on the Property
Any animal permitted on University Flats property must comply with all applicable City of Green Bay and Wisconsin animal laws and ordinances.
Residents are responsible for:
Keeping animals on a leash whenever they are outside the resident's residential unit.
Keeping animals under control at all times.
Not allowing animals to jump on, chase, threaten, or otherwise interfere with residents, guests, or staff.
Maintaining required licenses and vaccinations.
Immediately picking up and properly disposing of animal waste.
Following all applicable animal-control, health, safety, and nuisance laws.
Animals may not be left unattended within five feet of a public right-of-way, including sidewalks, streets, alleys, and parking lots.
Residents must provide proof of required licensing or vaccinations to Management upon request.
City of Green Bay requirements: Residents are responsible for complying with current City and Wisconsin animal laws and ordinances.
Not doing so may constitute a lease violation.
