University Flats Trash, Litter & Outdoor Storage Policy
Residents are responsible for properly handling and disposing of trash and keeping the property clean and free of litter and improper outdoor storage.
Trash & Garbage
Residents are responsible for:
Putting all garbage inside the designated garbage cart with the lid completely closed.
Not overfilling the garbage cart or leaving garbage outside the cart.
Keeping garbage drained of liquid and properly wrapped, packaged, or bundled.
Keeping recyclable materials separate and placing them in the designated recycling container.
Not leaving or dumping garbage, waste, or litter on the property or in any public area.
Garbage placed outside the garbage cart generally will not be collected by the City, except during City-authorized collection periods.
Outdoor Storage
Outdoor areas are not for storage. Personal belongings and household items must be kept inside the resident's unit or in a designated storage area.
Residents may not store or leave outside furniture, appliances, toys, equipment, vehicle parts, tires, bicycles, junk, trash, debris, or other unnecessary items.
Residents must also:
Keep lawns, porches, entrances, walkways, and other common areas free of litter and accumulated items.
Keep stairs, entrances, sidewalks, and walkways clear and accessible.
Do not place or store items where they block or interfere with access to the property or mail delivery.
Do not place unwanted items at the curb for disposal unless they are being placed out in accordance with City collection requirements.

Free City Bulk Item Drop-Off
Green Bay residents can take qualifying bulk household items free of charge to either City location. Proof of Green Bay residency is required.

The City accepts qualifying bulk household items such as tables, chairs, couches, mattresses, beds, bikes, lawn/patio furniture, toys, and other household items. Construction, remodeling, demolition waste, household trash, move-out debris, and recycling are not accepted at these locations.

For household waste, move-out debris, construction/remodeling/demolition waste, or other materials not accepted at the City bulk-item locations, residents may use:

The City advises residents to check with Brown County for current hours, fees, and accepted materials.
Lease Enforcement & Charges
Items that violate City of Green Bay ordinances may also constitute a violation of the University Flats lease and may result in lease enforcement.
Residents may also be responsible for City fines, removal, disposal, or cleanup costs resulting from violations, as permitted by the lease and applicable law.
